Condensate pumps are used to collect and return condensate – the water that forms when steam cools after transferring thermal energy. In steam systems, this condensate is returned to the boiler or deaerator to be reused as feed water.

In air conditioning and heating systems (air conditioners, heat pumps, high-efficiency boilers), the condensate pump removes the collected moisture from the evaporator or heat exchanger to a sewer or external drain when gravity drainage is not possible.
