Control modes

Proportional pressure

With proportional pressure, the pump automatically adjusts its performance to the heat demand. The pressure decreases at lower flow rates and increases at higher flow rates.

This mode is suitable for radiator systems with thermostatic radiator valves that change the flow rate according to the room temperature.

  • Setting I: Minimum curve.
  • Setting II: Average curve.
  • Setting III: Maximum curve.
  • AUTOADAPT: Automatic selection of the optimal curve.

Constant pressure

At constant pressure, the pump maintains a stable pressure difference regardless of heat demand and the number of open zones.

This mode is particularly suitable for underfloor heating and systems with a common collector supplying several heating zones.

  • Setting I: Low constant pressure.
  • Setting II: Medium constant pressure.
  • Setting III: High constant pressure.
  • AUTOADAPT: Automatic selection of the optimal curve.

Constant flow rate

At constant flow, the pump maintains a set flow rate regardless of changes in head. The duty point is set only via Grundfos GO.

This mode is suitable when the desired flow rate to the system is known and it must be maintained constant.

Permanent characteristic

With a constant characteristic, the pump operates at a constant speed or power, regardless of the actual flow rate in the system.

This mode is suitable for systems with constant characteristics and radiators that require a constant flow rate.

  • Setting I: Minimum speed.
  • Setting II: Medium speed.
  • Setting III: Maximum speed.

AUTOADAPT

AUTOADAPT is an integrated constant and proportional pressure function. The pump automatically selects the most suitable curve depending on the actual heat demand and the system characteristics.

AUTOADAPT continuously adapts the pump's performance by choosing between a constant pressure curve and a proportional pressure curve within the AUTOADAPT range.

PWM control

The PWM input allows external control of the pump speed and flow rate via a PWM signal. This mode is only selectable via Grundfos GO.

PWM control provides precise speed regulation, feedback for consumption, flow and status, as well as cable break protection.

Automatic air venting

The system's air detection and bleed feature allows the pump to detect air around the impeller and initiate a sequence of pulsations that push the air to the nearest venting device.

Night mode

Night mode automatically switches between normal operation and the night mode curve when a drop in temperature in the supply pipe of more than 10–15 °C is registered for about two hours.

The factory setting is proportional pressure, AUTOADAPT. The setting can be changed from the control panel or via Grundfos GO according to the type of heating system.
