Grundfos UPA – booster pump for increasing pressure in the home

Grundfos UPA is a compact circulation pump designed to increase the pressure in the water supply system. It ensures normal operation of showers, taps and other points of consumption, even when the inlet pressure is insufficient.

Automatic operation

UPA pumps are equipped with a flow sensor that automatically turns the pump on when the flow rate exceeds 90–120 l/h and turns it off when the consumption drops. This ensures convenient operation without the need for manual control.

Important during installation

To avoid noise and the risk of cavitation, the minimum inlet pressure of the pumps must be at least 0.2 bar (2 m). The pump is installed in open water supply systems and does not require additional ventilation, as it is cooled by the working fluid itself.

During installation, check that the inlet pressure meets the minimum requirements and that the piping is correctly sized for the selected model.

Which model to choose?

  • UPA 15-90: Suitable for small installations with 1–2 points of consumption (e.g. one shower and one tap). If you want the option of manual mode (MANUAL) or more compact dimensions, this is the right choice.
  • UPA 15-120 AUTO: Suitable for larger installations with up to 4 points of consumption. Provides higher added pressure (up to 1.1 bar) and higher maximum operating pressure (10 bar). Operates only in automatic mode.
