Grundfos Conlift1 – condensate pump for boilers, air conditioners and cooling systems

Grundfos Conlift1 is a compact automatic condensate pump for removing condensate when it collects below the sewer level or cannot be drained to the siphon by a natural slope. It is suitable for condensing boilers, air conditioners, cooling and refrigeration systems, dehumidifiers and evaporators.

How does it work?

The condensate flows into the Conlift1 tank by gravity. When the level reaches the start position, the float switch switches on the pump. The condensate is pumped through the pressure hose to the sewer or siphon. After the level drops to the stop position, the pump switches off automatically.

In the event of a blockage, kink in the pressure hose, or a fault that causes the level to rise, the high-water switch can be connected to an external alarm or to the boiler's low-voltage control circuit to stop the condensate source before overflow occurs.

Suitable condensate

  • Condensate with pH 2.5 or higher.
  • Condensate from gas boilers, air conditioning and cooling systems.
  • Liquid with a density of up to 1000 kg/m³.
  • Condensate free of solid particles, sediments and aggressive cleaning residues.
Conlift1 is suitable for condensate with a pH of 2.5 or higher. For more acidic condensate, for oil-fired boilers, for boilers over 200 kW or when required by local regulations, use a pH Box or Conlift2 pH neutralisation unit. Do not allow acids and residues from heat exchanger or burner cleaning agents to enter the pump.

Installation guidelines

  • The condensate must flow freely into the tank.
  • If not integrated into the source, all inlets must have a water trap/siphon according to the installation requirements.
  • The pump is not intended for outdoor installation.
  • Install it in a well-lit and well-ventilated room.
  • Do not cover the cooling vents on the motor cover.
  • Ensure free access for inspection and maintenance.
  • Connect the outlet hose without kinks; the minimum bending radius is 60 mm.
  • The pump can be mounted on the floor or on a wall with the included mounting hardware.
Before starting, check all hoses and connections for tightness. Use the test button to check the pump operation. If a high-water protection is installed, it must be activated before the condensate starts to overflow from the Conlift1.

Construction and materials

Conlift1 is designed for reliable condensate drainage and easy servicing. The main components are resistant to condensate with pH 2.5 or higher and are easily accessible after releasing the two side clamps.

For condensate with a pH below 2.5, a pH Box neutralization unit is available as an accessory. An extension hose, pH Box granules and an Alarm PCB for additional alarm functions are also available.

Approvals and safety

Conlift1 is designed for condensate applications and must be installed by qualified personnel in accordance with local regulations and good engineering practice. The technical documentation lists markings and approvals for the Conlift series. [10][11]

Safe operation

  • Connection to the electrical network must be carried out by a qualified electrician.
  • The protective conductor PE of the socket must be compatible with the protective conductor of the product.
  • Do not use Conlift1 outdoors.
  • Before servicing, turn off the power and prevent accidental reconnection.
  • Check the operation, connections and tank at least once a year.
When connecting the high water switch to a boiler or external alarm, use only a suitable low voltage control circuit. The alarm cable is designed for a control voltage of up to 250 V AC and a current of up to 2.5 A.

Technical data and variants

The Conlift1 is available with a Schuko plug or without a plug. The hydraulic and electrical characteristics of both versions are the same; the difference is in the way the electrical connection is made. [11]

Which option should you choose?

  • Conlift1 with Schuko plug: Suitable when you have a standard grounded outlet nearby and want a faster connection without a hard electrical connection.
  • Conlift1 without plug: Suitable for fixed installation where the power supply is connected directly by a qualified electrician to a suitable protected electrical circuit.
If the condensate has a pH below 2.5, if you use an oil boiler, if the boiler has a capacity of over 200 kW or if required by local regulations, add a pH Box neutralization box or choose Conlift2 pH.
