Grundfos UNILIFT KP – stainless steel drainage pump with wet rotor
Grundfos UNILIFT KP is a submersible drainage pump in a compact design, made entirely of stainless steel. It is the original Grundfos drainage pump and the only wet runner on the market – with a liquid-filled rotor and water-lubricated bearings. Even if the shaft seal leaks, the pump continues to operate without short-circuiting. It is suitable for stationary and portable installations.
Main advantages of UNILIFT KP
- Entirely made of stainless steel (AISI 304) for all hydraulic parts.
- Wet runner design – the rotor is filled with liquid, water-lubricated bearings.
- Even if the shaft seal leaks, the pump operates without short circuit.
- Cooling jacket for continuous operation in partial immersion.
- Semi-open impeller for minimal risk of clogging.
- Hermetically sealed stator housing for maximum protection.
- Built-in automatic overload protection.
- Easy access for replacing consumables – float, bearing seal, impeller and rotor.

Installation
UNILIFT KP is suitable for permanent and portable installations. The pump can be installed vertically, inclined or horizontally, with the outlet at the highest point. It is available with a float for automatic start/stop, with a vertical float for small spaces or without a float for manual control via an external controller.
Start and stop levels
In models with a float (KP-A) the difference in level between start and stop is adjusted by changing the free length of the cable between the float and the pump handle. In models with a vertical float (KP-AV) the difference is not adjustable.
| Model | Start (min. cable) | Stop (min. cable) | Start (max. cable) | Stop (max cable) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| KP 150 A | 290mm | 140mm | 335 mm | 100mm |

| KP 250 AV | 180mm | 100mm | - | - |
| KP 350 AV | 190mm | 110mm | - | - |
Operating modes
- Automatic mode with float (KP-A): Automatic start/stop between two liquid levels.
- Automatic mode with vertical float (KP-AV): For small confined spaces, levels are not adjusted.
- Manual mode (KP-M): Without float, controlled by external controller or manual on/off.
- Single-phase pumps: With built-in automatic overload protection.
- Three-phase pumps: Requires an external controller with motor protection.
